The Starfish

A young boy went to the beach one morning and found that a storm had washed up thousands of starfish. He immediately began to throw them back in, one at a time. An old man walked by and asked him what he was doing.The boy explained that the stranded starfish would die. “But the beach goes on for miles and there are thousands of starfish,” exclaimed the old man. “How can you possibly make any difference?” The boy looked at the starfish in his hand and then tossed it safely into the waves. He turned to him, smiled and said,

“It made a difference to that one.”

Welcome to Casa de Esperanza and the official site for the "House of Hope". Located in Santa Ana, Honduras, Central America, our home is about 25km south of the capital city of Tegucigalpa. Casa de Esperanza is a ministry project of The InterAmerican Restoration Corporation. Our doors opened in December 2005 and we will continue to add to our family until every bed is full. ________________ _ _

Can you help? There is a container being shipped from Mississippi to Honduras if you would like to contribute to any of the needs at Casa de Esperanza. The container will ship in October! If you would like to make a monetary donation to save you the shipping costs to Mississippi, we have volunteers that will do the shopping! Please email Karen for details.
